Selbstdarstellung

Radio ARA ist Luxemburgs freies und alternatives Radio. Zahlreiche Bürger und Vereinigungen beteiligen sich an der Gestaltung des Programms sowie an der Leitung des Radios.
Das Programm kennzeichnet sich durch folgende Aspekte:

• originell: ständig etwas Neues entdecken
• speziell: die Kombination von verschiedenen Stilen
• multikulti: verschiedene Stimmen und Sprachen, Musik von hier und vom anderen Ende der Welt.

Geschichtliches

Radio ARA erhielt seine Sendelizenz im Jahr 1992. Das Sendernetz besteht aus einem Hauptsender in Luxemburg-Stadt (siehe hier) und mehreren Nebensendern welche übers Land verteilt sin d. Radio RadAU, ein Piratensender welcher während der zweiten Hälfte der 80erJahre von Luxemburg-Stadt und vom Süden des Landes aus sendete, kann als einer der Motoren der
Radioliberalisierung in Luxemburg angesehen werden. Mehrere Leute von RadAU waren an der Gründung von Radio ARA beteiligt.

Entwicklung

Von Anfang an gab es eine rege Beteiligung von Luxemburgs internationaler Gemeinschaft. Demnach war die Neugestaltung des Morgenprogramms im Jahr 2000 in englischer Sprache unter dem Namen "ARACityradio" ein konsequenter Schritt in der Geschichte des Radios. Im Jahr 2004 stellte Graffiti, die Vereinigung welche für das nachmittägliche Jugendprogramm verantwortlich zeichnet eine Sozialpädagogin ein, woraus eine neue Dynamik entstand: die jugendlichen Reporter und DJ's können nunmehr professionell betreut werden und die Zusammenarbeit mit
anderen Vereinen, Initiativen und Jugendhäusern konnte intensiviert werden.

Radio ARA est la radio libre et alternative du Luxembourg. Elle se caractérise par la participation de nombreux associations et citoyens. Son programme se distingue par les atouts suivants: - originalité: toujours quelque chose à découvrir - spécialité: la combinaison de différents styles - multiculturalité: différentes voix et plusieurs langues, de la musique de tout près et de l'autre bout du monde.

Historique

Radio ARA obtient en 1992 la permission d'émettre en tant que radio à réseau: un émetteur principal à Luxembourg-Ville (voir ici) et plusieurs émetteurs-relais à travers le pays. Radio RadAU émettant à partir du centre et du sud du pays pendant la deuxième moitié des années 80, peut être considérée comme ayant été un des moteurs de la libéralisation des ondes au Luxembourg et antécédent de Radio ARA.

Evolution

Alors que le programme a toujours été marqué par la participation de la population internationale du Luxembourg, la redéfinition de la plage matinale comme service anglophone sous le nom de "ARACityradio" en 2000 constitue un pas important dans l'histoire de la station. A partir de 2004, l'association Graffiti en charge du programme des jeunes l'après-midi, entame une nouvelle dynamique en embauchant une éducatrice graduée pour professionnaliser l'encadrement des jeunes, et en recherchant davantage des partenariats avec d'autres associations et des maisons des jeunes.

Radio ARA is the independent, alternative radio station of Luxembourg. Many citizens and associations participate in the programm. The programm is characterized by the following aspects: - original: always something new to discover - special: the combination of different styles - multiculti: different voices and languages, music from here and from far away.

History

Radio ARA got its licence to broadcast in 1992. The network has a main transmitter in Luxembourg-City (see here) and several smaller transmitters throughout the country. Radio RadAU, wh ich has been broadcasting as a pirate station from the city and from the south of Luxembourg during the second half of the 80ies, can be considered as one of the drives of the radioliberalisation in Luxembourg. Several people from RadAU were participating in setting up Radio ARA.

Evolution

If from the beginning the international community of Luxembourg has been participating in the radio, the relaunch of the morning grid with an english speaking service in 2000 under the brand of "ARACityradio" was an important step in the history of the station. Since 2004, the association Graffiti in charge of the youth programm in the afternoon, has taken a new dynamic after employing an educator to strenghten the coaching of the young journalists and DJs and by enforcing partnership with other associations, initiatives and youth centers.
